In contrast of your statement "up-to-date ISO 3166 country codes", the shipped "countries.csv" database still does not reflect a country splitting/renaming that caused a change of the country codes 3 years ago.
Could you please describe how the module could be fed with cc changes?

The best way is to simply make me aware of the changes by creating a ticket on the modules issue queue, preferably linking to the official source of your information. I see that you have already created an issue and I will incorporate these changes as soon as time permits...
To speed up the process, submit a patch along with your ticket :)
